the University of Nottingham certainly does have a certain kind of appeal when you think about it XD

on another note, i watched Manchester United v Liverpool live at Old Trafford.

matchdays at Old Trafford are magical. the moment i walked through the doors leading into the stadium my heart raced. i couldn't help but be in awe of the atmosphere. a 75000 sea of red were all in tune. the noise in the stadium was deafening. the pitch below was like a carpet of green. the view was stunning. it was one of those moments where you just stopped thinking for a few seconds and soak it all in. the first thing that came out of my mouth was 'woah' and i then broke into a smile.

this was the first thing i saw after going through the doors -

the best thing about Old Trafford is that wherever you sit, you can see everything clearly.

i loved every minute of it. i sang along with my fellow Manutd supporters. we cheered when the team scored. we cheered when Gerrard got sent off. we sighed when Evans hit the post.

we sang the customary Glory, Glory Man United. we also sang a song directed at Manchester City -

United is the team for me,

yes i'm back in msia and i've really been enjoying myself. 1st time ive truly had a full stomach in 3 months.

the journey back here was tiresome. the journey from my doorstep in hull to my hse doorstep was exactly 24 hours. had to travel from humberside to amsterdam to singapore then to msia. the 7 hour transit in amsterdam was the killer. it wasn't as smooth sailing though. was supposed to return on the 19th but i wasn't allowed to get on the plane to amsterdam in hull because i had a connecting flight from damn amsterdam and they didn't want people to fill up the airport. and when i DID get back, both my luggages were missing bloody hell.

alright, after receiving a slight push from Ms Tan Su Ann, i'm gonna post my views about the guy who recently committed suicide, Alviss Kong. i'll try to keep it short and sweet cause it's about a dead guy and i gotta be somewhat respectable to the dead HAHA

do note that i don't know the guy and i'm writing this entirely based on what i have read the past few days =)

the 1st thing that really pissed me off about this guy is that he thinks that he's the fucking king of the ladies. yeah you might be good looking but if there's absolutely nothing in your head then you aren't really that much of a catch are you? he complained on his blog that he confessed to his ex 5 times and that she had rejected him the first 4 times wtf. SO THE GIRL IS in yr own words 'CRUEL + EVIL' BECAUSE SHE FUCKING REJECTED YOU? wtf this guy is so damn full of himself. so things didn't work out between him and the girl - why curse her? the idiot said that she's fucking evil and then proceeded to say that he loves her. he insulted her then REQUESTED OTHER PEOPLE to not blame her. damn immature for a 22 year old.

As you are able to see from Justin's and Michael's comments, the longer this went on, the higher the number of people who saw this argument between past lovers.

In a display of true annoyance, Tommy has decided to put his guns down and stop making a fool out of the Jade and for at least 2 hours, Jade too felt that she had had enough.

However, this next comment from Bernie reignited the burning flame in Jade's huge throbbing chest and made her take out her frustrations on everybody.

So now Jade has a case of "The whole world is against me" syndrome. She even called out Tommy for not being able to go for a second round with her.

Before I start, I just wanna say that I have received the boot autographed by Paul Scholes and I still can't believe it. Anyway, my mother somehow found out about it so I think she reads the blog.

Mum, if you ARE in fact reading the blog, I really hope you don't understand half the things going on here. If you do though, I hope you feel blessed because your son is such a wonderful entertainer and not feel disappointed by the things I publish here. You know your son loves you =)

ANYWAY, the new Harry Potter movie is about to be released in theaters so I decided to give my thoughts on the recent movies :

Harry Potter Movies.

Allow me to provide my infinite wisdom on this subject.

Daniel Radcliffe can't act for shits. The new Dumbledore is just bloody horrible. Who gave the damn fool the idea that he could play Dumbledore with a Scottish accent? The 1st two movies had the best Dumbledore. It's the Dumbledore you'd imagine while reading the book. The new guy is just sodding idiotic with his beard tied into a ponytail.

Besides that, you can honestly count the amount of times Daniel Radcliffe opened his mouth in the Half Blood Prince movie. The movie didn't have much dialogue and that confused so many people. The movie was so damn rushed that people who haven't read the book don't get the storyline at all. The director is supposed to explain the story to the viewers through the movie and he didn't manage to do that. People ended up sleeping in the theatres. How Warner Bros. choose their directors i have no idea. I mean they have like all the money in the world so why not hire a better director? I'm not asking them to get James Cameron or Quentin Tarantino or anything but just get someone BETTER? Its WOULD be awesome if they could get Cameron though. Anyway, I'm not expecting much out of the 2 part 7th movie to be honest. Don't wanna get my hopes up.

The lighting in the movies really sucks. Too damn dark. And the scriptwriter sucks. I mean all you have to do is summarize the book so WHY THE HELL ADD YOUR OWN STORYLINES AND KILL SO MANY OTHERS? So many damn key moments are cut from the book in the movies. Look at Lord of the Rings! The writers stayed true to the story and with good directing, acting and LIGHTING, ALL THREE movies were awesome. People would go back and watch the movie 3 or 4 times. I didn't want to watch the Harry Potter 4, 5 and 6 a second time bloody hell and I'm the guy who watched Disney's Tarzan 10 times. The scriptwriters did not do Albus Dumbledore justice. He appears cold and fierce and freaking SCOTTISH in the bloody movies. Dumbledore is supposed to be soft spoken, loving, caring, understanding.

Take a look at this phrase from the 6th book.

Harry : He accused me of being "Dumbledore's man through and through"'.
Dumbledore : How very rude of him.
Harry : I told him I was.

Dumbledore's bright blue eyes looked rather watery...

Dumbledore : I am very touched, Harry

How could the damn writers leave that out?

This was the book where Harry got really close to Dumbledore relationship wise. They joked and told personal information and developed a deep understanding. There was nothing like that in the movies. Dumbledore was just plain creepy and hardened.

Thank God they're having 2 parts for the 7th installment. It's amazing that they could fit the entire 5th book into 2 and a half hours because the 7th book is so much shorter than the 5th book and it gets 5 hours in total.

I've said my piece. I probably have more things to trash about the movies but it's late and I'm sleepy =)

for those who don't know, i went to sydney last week and just came back yesterday night. really enjoyed myself.

sydney was awesome. had a great time shopping. i bought loads of Kathmandu jackets to get ready for the weather in Hull. apparently, Kathmandu is a famous Australian/NZ brand and the jackets go up to AUD350 (about RM1000). amazing. i didn't spend a single cent there though. my uncle bought the jackets for me =3

really enjoyed shopping at the factory outlets there too. bought loads of Ralph Lauren while my other uncle bought me a Hugo Boss belt and a pair of Converse.

met up with Ang Su Yiin on my 3rd day there and we spent hours walking around the city while stopping for lunch, having desert in some thai place and then dinner at a pizza place. we went looking for nudie jeans but when we found the shop, the price put me off (RM1000 a pair) so i decided to get Ksubi - another Australian brand. we then met up with Ismail and Ang's guy - Sebastian for dinner. anyway, the desert at the thai place deserves a special mention because it was so damn good ._. no wonder Ang put on so much weight.

It Happened to Me, It Could Happen to You

The typical Merdeka Eve night started with an urge to watch the fireworks celebration in KLCC ended up in a racist attack by a group of teenagers. So, me and a friend of mine thought of a good solution to avoid the traffic jam in that area by walking from the office in Jalan Imbi through Pavillion, to Jalan Kia Peng through Convention Center to KLCC.

Sounds like an ideal plan as the path is a frequent walkway and is even advertised in Pavillion as 'Bridge to KLCC'. (Just to note that we didnt go into any dark alley)

At 10.15pm, we started walking towards Pavillion, stopped to get a drink at Starbucks and proceeded ahead. As we walk, we came across people from various races and foreign tourists along the way.

On Jalan Kia Peng, we walked past Novotel Hotel, Hakka Restaurant, Menara HLA and was reaching the junction of Jalan Pinang when a group of about 10 teenage Malay youngsters walking from the opposite direction. They looked like typical youths, giggling and talking to each other.

As we walked past them, suddenly one of them turned around and started to make a flying kick to my friend. Noticing the 'fun' he is having, his other friends started to do the same to me. It was so sudden and all I was thinking at the moment was, "What the hell did we do to them?"

Both of us ended up kneeling on the ground for a moment before more kicks and punches came flying in. Even though both of us had our tripod strapped across our shoulder, we were too shocked to react to it. Eventually one punch landed right on my right forehead and I started to bleed profusely. Seeing that they eventually stopped and walked away.WALKED AWAY, damn it. They were not even afraid to run but just WALKED AWAY like winning a game or something.The last thing I remember hearing from one of them was "Baliklah ke negara asal"

Imagine hearing this statement on Merdeka Eve.

I knew I was bleeding but I didnt know how bad. I could feel the right side of my head swollen and wet but I did not try to look at myself through a mirror. My friend also suffered bruises on the body and face. By that time there were more people walking around us but they did not stop to see what was wrong. I don't blame them, it was a poorly lit area just in front of Menara Pinang. We recovered and continued walking towards the Convention Center. The guards were symphatetic to let us in to use the washroom to clean up. It was then I saw my bloody face.

I did not take a picture of myself then as it is not my intention to send a horror message. This is not a message of sympathy. It's a account of a random person walking on a street.

Eventually after cleaning up, we walked back to the Police Booth in Pavillion to relate the incident. The response from the officer: "This cannot happen, we have all our men on the streets" (Well, not on the street we got beaten up ...)

Apparently informing the police booth stationed in a public area is NOT MAKING A POLICE REPORT. WTF? Apparently we have to go to a Hospital, get some treatment and make a complain/report at the police counter there. I would be dead by then, ain't I?

Is this how the police maintained that they have improved street crimes? By not noting down petty crimes like gang bang which did not result into hospitalization? Would we be taken seriously if only we landed in the hospital?

What we did was, we went back to the office, rested til this morning, went to a nearby clinic to get some bandages and medic.What else to do? I can't identify my assailants, and my wounds are not death-threatening.

If I had not wanted to celebrate Independence Day, would I walk or drive to the venue?

If I was not thirsty would I stop for 5 mins to get my drink and missed them completely?

If I had held my tripod as a defensive weapon earlier, would I save myself or get more beating instead?

If I'm not Chinese, would I get the same 'treatment'?

All I want to say in the end is ...

the week ended on a high for me not only because the epl season is back but also because Manutd has started the season off with another trophy in the bag.

and Chicharito scored again wtf.

in the previous post, i mentioned how he's already scored 3 different types of goals since signing for Manutd and on Sunday he displayed another trick up his sleeve. the bugger kicked the ball and it flew and hit his nose before going in.

when Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez was introduced against the MLS All Stars, i think i can speak for all the manutd fans out there, we just wanted to watch him excel and quell the fears of him being just another flop (just like berbatov). well, quell the fears he certainly did.

his 1st ever goal for manutd could not be more elegant. the timing of his run, the weight and the precision of the lob, everything was there for all to see. Chicharito had 28 minutes to impress and by the 84 minute, the manutd fans all around the world were left smacking their lips. i couldn't help feeling nostalgic watching his performance. i remember feeling the same when watching Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney's 1st appearances for manutd. you just know that big things are going to happen for that player sooner or later.

the next match manutd had was against Chicharito's former club - Chivas. he started the game playing for Chivas but would then switch teams to play for manutd in the 2nd half. he got onto the scoresheet as early as the 8th minute to further stamp his authority on a place in the starting 11. it was a different type of goal to the one he scored against the MLS All Stars. a long ball was played to his strike partner who chested it down and Chicharito was there to latch onto it and unleash 1st time half volley that rifled into the bottom corner of the net to put his old club infront. so far he's shown both finesse and power in both of the goals he's scored since the World Cup.

most recently, manutd played a friendly against the League of Ireland XI. Chicharito was introduced in the 2nd half and he scored 90seconds after his introduction with his 1st touch of the ball. this goal was a pure strikers goal. he showed predatorial instinct to make space for himself and run onto Valencia's low cross. such was the finish that the ball was still rising after going into goal. i think it's about time we've had this kind of finishing again. manutd has been lacking the killer touch in recent seasons and Chicharito may just be the man to get the job done.

one can only hope that Chicharito can bring this fine form to the premier league and spearhead manutd's attack with Wayne Rooney next season with both pace and flair; not languidity and snail like movements (just like berbatov). it is worrying to know that the Mexicans have generally never done well in their respective European clubs but there certainly is an air of excitement about this young fella and only time can tell whether he will go down as one of the greatest in the history books.

okay. i've been wanting to work on something like this for a while now but i've just been too lazy. nevertheless, this blog needs the occasional *Roger Original* so here it is.

i think it's fair to say that alot of us have incorporated some characteristics of the opposite sex in ourselves. it's not necessarily something we want to do, it just happens whether we want it to happen or not. however, i'm not going on record here saying that for example, girls should be demure and sweet and quite and so on. i'm just comparing the general view of the public to a few individuals i have studied and thus, i have coined the term GIRUY - Girl + Guy = Giruy (pronounced GERAI) =D

please note that i have NEVER met these following individuals nor do i know them personally.

i shall start with a typical guy to set the standard.

Ponnie Khaw Hwan Juet. He is driven and focused. He knows what he wants and he'll do everything in his power to get it. He is composed and presents himself very well to society.

so far this holiday, i've been relaxing my ass off. i've watched Smallville seasons 7, 8 and 9, Lost seasons 1, 2 and 3 and half of Ugly Betty season 4. after i finish all 6 seasons of Lost, i'm gonna rewatch Prison Break and reread the Harry Potter series as well as start reading Lord of the Rings. i also plan on playing Final Fantasy 7 and 10. i actually started Final Fantasy 9 again but it kept dying on me particularly during the movie part.

i've been catching up on my Smallville lately. about to finish season 8 and will most probably be starting season 9 tomorrow. the world cup to be honest has been disappointing. the Robert Green fumble, all the draws, rooney, messi and ronaldo failing to score, the Spain loss (HAHA!). lets just hope for a better round of fball in the coming matches.

i just remembered this about 5 minutes ago and decided to make a post out of it.

during CNY, su had an open house. sha, oli and i were there but sam couldn't make it cause she had a CNY dinner. we did see sheng there though. oli and i arrived an hour early so we hung out in su's room until it was time to eat.

sha and i went down first to check out the food and she got really excited because she smelt roast lamb. i could tell that she really loves her lamb. it was really weird to be honest. i've never met anyone who loves lamb that much before. if there was a category on "Who Loves Lamb the Most" lisha would OWN that category. if you ever eat lamb for dinner, you can be sure to find lisha there. THATS how much she loves her lamb.

anyway, she went around following the smell, trying to pinpoint the exact location of the lamb XD

lisha didn't have to look far because the roast lamb was just a few feet away from the front door wtf. she pointed at it while screaming "LAMB! LAMB! ROAST LAMB!" and pulling me towards it.

however, i saw something entirely different.

i gotta say though, the food that day was awesome. satay, tofu bakar, roti canai, nasi lemak + fried chicken, lamb and ais kacang. i think i'm missing out a few but wth.

it took me quite awhile to draw the pic and at one point i got really frustrated. i really hate art wtf. maybe one day when i earn lotsa money from this blog i can hire some art guy wtf.

in a nutshell,

Manutd needs to buy. i've gone through all the players they need and these are the real "possible" ones - Luka Modric, David Silva, Milos Krasic and Edin Dzeko. i would prefer wesley sneijder, arjen robben, sergio aguero and karim benzema but they will most probably be staying at their respective clubs or prefer other big clubs.

i'm in need of pool. i freakinn need to play pool. my entire body misses the feel. definitely going to get a pool table after A2. i'll pay with my own money if i have to.

there was a time when 4 people who mean alot to me and yours truly would meet up for lunch every Tuesday and i miss those moments and would really like to go back. i miss the times when we would just sit down and talk about anything. when will we have lunch on tuesdays again? =(

i was staring at the ceiling a couple of days ago when Brian Loh nudged me on msn.

the next day was going to be our last day as college students and we decided to go out with a bang.

so last month, there was a post on Mr Adrian Wong in a compromising position during his time in Melbourne.

an irate fan who only wanted to be known as AdrW sent me an email a couple of days ago to defend mr Adrian Wong's honour.

the email contained a recently taken picture of Mr Adrian Wong in a similiar position to the picture posted on therogsays.blogspot.com . it seems to me that this fan , AdrW is someone very close to Mr Adrian Wong as he/she has gone through great lengths to prove his innocence.

next, lets take a look at what the guys in both pictures are holding in their hands. it seems that the picture sent in by AdrW shows Mr Adrian Wong holding onto a pen while the picture posted here last month shows a cigarette in hand. so AdrW, are you stating that Mr Adrian Wong smokes AFTER he studies or that he studies AFTER he smokes? what exactly is the significance of this highlighted point? just what are you trying to prove? this does not show that he does not smoke at all. but take heart for you have shown the world that Mr Adrian Wong can read and write! clearly, there is still reasonable doubt.

i've been freakinn busy studying for A2. very stressed out. suffering from a migraine that started last night. fyi, waking up with a migraine is probably the worst thing ever. i feel like inflicting pain on other parts of my body just to make the migraine less hurtful.

anyway, liverpool v chelsea this weekend is probably the game of the season.

yes lim li sha. it's a fball post coming up =)

i know a few liverpool fans that have been saying that they would rather liverpool throw the game because they don't want manutd to overtake their 18 league titles and replace them as the most celebrated club in England. in fact, they would rather liverpool miss out on next season's champions league just to stop manutd from getting that 19th league title. is this what liverpool has become? do they not consider their liverpool as a member of the big4 anymore?

but look at the liverpool team and you'll see players like steven gerrard and jamie carragher - pure professionals who want to win at any cost. you take one look at rafael benitez and you can see that he doesn't give a damn about which team is the most celebrated in England. in fact, most of the players are foreigners and they probably don't have that kind of love for the club.

i urge the liverpool fans to think about the consequences of missing out on Europe next season. will liverpool still be able to keep torres and gerrard? gerrard will be 30 this year and he'll probably stop to think "do i want to win trophies and titles in my last few years in football or do i want to continue doing what i have been doing the last 12 - 13 years of my life for the rest of my career?" on the other hand, i see nothing that can stop fernando torres from leaving. he left his boyhood club atletico madrid to win trophies and he has yet to win anything with liverpool. he is highly demanded by a few of the world's best clubs and would be in the starting 11 anywhere.

alright, back to the main topic. liverpool v chelsea. people have been saying that liverpool will throw the game but i beg to differ as the players could care less about the title of *Most Celebrated Club in England*. what i do agree on though is that chelsea will beat liverpool even if it is at anfield.

the tabloids have made a really big deal out of the 19 league titles thing and people's minds have been clouded and have wandered off the bigger picture.

and the bigger picture is that between liverpool and chelsea, WHICH IS THE BETTER TEAM?

there's a clear answer to that question. so yeah thats why i think that liverpool won't throw the game away and give chelsea the title but i fully and whole heartedly believe that chelsea will beat liverpool. torres ain't gonna be playing. kuyt is a major doubt. i honestly can't see liverpool winning the match. the facts all point to chelsea beating liverpool and winning the title.

this is him trying to carry a 1.5 kg dumbbell. should have started with something lighter you dumbbell.

Tim Urban will win American Idol.

watching david archuleta last week and then adam lambert this week really makes you think about the talent of this season's American Idol.

last year, you could always count on danny gokey, adam lambert, kris allen, allison, matt giraud to put on a great show. personally, last season stood out the most compared to every other season. even during david cook's season, you could more or less guess that the it'll come down to either one of the davids. this season looks like *possibly* a 3 horse race between crystal bowersox, lee dewyze and casey james with my vote going to lee. don't get me wrong. i think that crystal is plain awesome. it's just that she looks more like a mother than a star? =( i don't really fancy siobhan magnus' chances, there's just something about her. maybe it's just me but it seems like she sings through her nose. aaron kelly has been consistent but he's so young and has already been in the bottom 3. i'm just gonna write off big mike because he's already been eliminated once.

tim urban. the sanjaya malakar of this season. awesome performance one week then terrible the next 2 weeks. he does do well when he has the guitar with him though - hallelujah and falling in love with you comes to mind. i'm thinking that if he continues performing slow songs like the ones mentioned, he'll do well.

andrew garcia is this season's disappointment. everyone expected great things from him after he wowed the world with his rendition of paula's straight up but the closest he's got to that was with chris brown's forever. it's his song choice and his arrangements. i don't think he gets how boring he is on the show. another disappointing contestant was didi benami. i actually like her alot but once again, it all came down to song choice.

talking about didi, this may be surprising.

whatever happened to the songs by aerosmith, the corrs, bon jovi, queen?

nowadays the songs we hear on the radio are mostly r&b and hip hop and bieber wtf. songs that make no sense. songs that are relevant only in a night club. i mean why do people enjoy hearing another guy singing about a girls ass? what happened to songs with meaning? i thank god for the songs by colbie, james blunt, josh groban, all the people in that kind of genre. you come for a ride with me and you'll find that my car has david cook, howie day, five for fighting, danny gokey and kris allen (mostly their ballads from last season's american idol), ronan keating, avril, etc and no r&b, hip hop and dance songs.

don't get me wrong. i have my fair share of favourite r&b, hip hop, dance songs. its just that they get really annoying after a while. for eg - when was the last time you heard buttons by the pussycat dolls? what about with you by chris brown? both songs that were, at a period of time, HUGE. really makes you think doesn't it?

it's not just those kind of songs. i think that the voices of boys like girls, tokio hotel, hellogoodbye, etc, are all kind of similiar. who knows. maybe i have a hearing defect or something.

whatever happened to oasis, nirvana, pearl jam, five for fighting? where's sclub7, guns 'n roses, counting crows blue, 5ive? creed? robbie williams? the backstreet boys? westlife, nsync? journey? U2?!

yeah. everyone has moved on. new bands have come and gone. new musics been created and everyone's having the time of their lives. then again, maybe it's just me but in general, i think that the old songs sound better than whatever we're listening to on the radio today. they actually have meaning. we can feel the lyrics. we sing our hearts out. we're able to connect to the songs. the songs we listen to nowadays just make no sense at all.

cmon. a small kid singing "baby baby baby oh* over and over again? what kind of girl does that? seriously? seriously?!

i said previously that Manutd's facing a huge week. the rooney injury. the losses against chel and bayern. berbatov in the 1st 11. can this get any worse?

these 3 shouldn't be in the 1st 11 at the same time. don't get me wrong. all 3 are great players. legends at the club. the only thing is that there are other players who have the physicality to play the entire 90mins. playing all 3 at the same time slows the game down. this with the fact that berbatov is in the 1st 11, manutd is practically playing at walking pace.

i don't mean to be so hard on berba. he's definite quality. he's capable of holding the ball and finding the right pass and making something out of nothing but if he keeps straying off his position who's gonna attack the ball when the cross comes in? who's gonna collect the pass in the box?

i thought that evra was terrible against bayern and in the chel game, i think i cursed gary more than i ever cursed nani and that says alot.

and about last saturday. the drogba goal shouldn't have stood. clear offside. this ain't even debatable. i can't believe that a stupid refereeing decision is going to decide where the league title ends up at the end of the season. i know that my groaning won't change anything and now i seem like a sore loser but that just how it is. stupid. incompetent. assistant referee.

its clear that chels are favourites to win the league now. and if they don't, chels fans, you'll never hear the end of it from me.

just saw the tila tequila post on gutter. the only interesting thing about the post was the melons.

apparently she was wearing a seethrough skirt. not worth wasting your time going to the site just to see tila if you ask me. but if you want you can see all that and more at gutter! =)

anyway. the melons did have me thinking.

its a damn fact. celebs use melons to tease guys. here's Jessica Alba, grocery shopping apparently. look at that smooth handplay. shes holding 3 wtf =D
